SO Friday night we had soooo much fun having our "party"! Both of the movies were great! Saturday we had all sorts FUN family plans, but then work called. GRRR!!! Bad DAY! So Dave ended up having to work about from about 10-4. But I had hope we could still do some of the fun things. So we went to work setting up our above ground swimming pool. We knew it wasn't going to be perfect because our backyard slants, but figured it would be ok. But man it's a sad case. We decided we need to take it down, and either level our yard or build a deck. Oh well, one more thing for the day that didn't go as planned. The kids did have fun splashing and playing as we tried to fill it though, so at least that was good.

GRRR....
I am flustered! Timmy has been sick for like a month now! He went in at the first of the month with a fever and overall moodiness. Turns out he had a double ear infection. He was started on his 10 day antibiotic, and a decongestion medicine. That afternoon one of his ear infections ruptured and then he had to have ear drop too. In addition to all of that he had severe diarrhea from the medicine with a very sore bum. So I had to buy him an additional OTC to combat that.So he finished up that medicine and was doing okay, for a day. Then he started having a fever and tugging at his ear again. So I took him back, he still had an infection in one ear, so they gave him a stronger antibiotic for another 10 days. So he finished that on Monday, and has been tugging at his ear still. So today, we went in for his 1 year well check, which already meant 3 vaccines to ruin his day. But they checked his ears again since I told them he kept tugging at them. At first glance, the Doctor said that one looked slightly irritated but not bad. But she decided to do a test, don't remember the name of it, they stuck this machine in his ear that did a puff of air. The test results said he had fluid in both ears. Oh and while checking everything else he has a yeast infection in the diaper area as a side effect from all the antibiotic he has had in the past little while. GRRR... So here we are having just returned from the pharmacy with a third, yet stronger antibiotic to try for 10 MORE days. And a new decongestant to use for a MONTH to dry everything up! Besides feeling totally bad for my baby, I'm getting bummed out by the cost of all this! 3 Doctor visits with a copay of $30, 5 RXs at $15, 1 RX at $30, 1 OTC at $20, and I still have to go by the OTC for the yeast infection. And he has a follow up again on the 4th, so that will be another $30. My only saving grace in all of those costs has been CVS. They have been running coupons in their ads for $30 Gift Cards with a new RX. So I have been filling the RXs one at a time, and using the Gift Cards to pay for the next RX and the OTC. But man that's a lot and all over the period of one month. It's making me miss the poor student days of qualifying for medicaid. So that is my vent, thanks for listening! And here is wishing you all HEALTH and no doctor visits!

Confetti Eggs
Friday night we had lots of fun busting our confetti eggs on one another. Our good friends Mr. Rick and Friend Desi as the kids lovingly call them were here to partake of the fun. It was their first experience with cascarones, aka confetti eggs, and I think they had fun. These have always been a part of Easter for Me, and I have enjoyed sharing the tradition with the Dave & the kids. So starts our Easter! Happy Easter to all!!!

My Shopping Addiction
Today the highlight of my day has been an outing to CVS. Sad, but true. So instead of another post about the family, or cute pictures of the kids...Today my post is about me and my CVS addiction. Those who know me well, know I love a deal, and that I love using coupons. For example today at CVS this is what I purchased:
1 Maybelline Superstay Lip Color $8.99
2 Johnson Buddy Bars $0.98 ea
2 Russell Stover Private Reserve Bags of Chocolate $3.29 ea
3 Speed Stick 24/7 Deodorants $1.99 ea
For what would of all totaled to $23.50 in stuff...But that's not what I paid!!! Any guesses??? I paid a grand total of $0.26 for all this great stuff!!! I get teased by some because my house has become a convenient store of sorts, you need lotion, toothpaste, pads, you name I'm probably stockpiled on it. But honestly how can I not get the stuff when it is so cheap, free, or sometimes I even make money from it. This is my downfall I guess. So, if you are need, you know where to come...HA HA! The funny thing is I get a thrill out of this style of shopping. I love to do it, I love to tell anyone who will listen about it. I think I have a disease! Now for anyone who is wondering how I scored the above deal...here it goes, take notes!!!
CVS is awesome, and has a program called extra care bucks, ECB's for short. Each week they run items that if purchased will render ECB's. ECB's are just like cash, and don't expire for a month from the day you receive them. So technically you put the money out 1 time, then you continually get it back in ECB's and use the ECB's to buy more stuff. So starting at the top the lip color was a "free" item this week, so it rendered $8.99 in ECB's. The 2 Johnson's buddy bars were $0.98 and I had 2 $1 off Johnson's coupons, so those were a money maker of $.04. The Russell Stover chocolate was buy 2 get $3 in ECBs, and I had a Russell Stover buy one get one free coupon. The Speed Sticks were $1.99 get $1 ECB back, plus I added 3 Speed Stick $1 off coupons, making them better than free I made a penny on each one. So my total after coupons came to $16 something. I applied an ECB from last week of $14.95, and my total dropped to .$30. I paid this in loose change, and received $14.99 back in ECB's to use next time. So total money lost by me in this transaction was $0.26. Which is well worth it, I think!!!

Wii Experience
So we have been talking about getting a Wii for a LONG time, and we have finally gotten one. Now we just need to get it, it's in College Station, thats where are connections were :). Meanwhile Jimmy has had his first Wii experience on at our friends house. It was the most comical thing to watch him box. He made it a FULL body game with sound effects and all. I was without a camera, but Desi had hers out and captured the fun! Go check out her page, it's the 2nd entry right now. She even included a video of Jimmy. Thanks Desi!!!

Timmy's Party!
So on Friday Timmy turned the BIG 1! Sadly, I was sick as a dog and missed most of the day. Saturday I had a family funeral to attend. So on Sunday we celebrated the little guy. Here are all the pictures from the party. We had lots of fun, thanks to everyone who was a part of it. Hard to believe he's already 1, this past year has flown by.

Out Back
It's been a few days. Things have been crazy around here. We had a busy week, and Timmy got sick. HOW SAD! He has a double ear infection, one of which ruptured. But as of today his fever has broke and I think he is starting to feel human again. Today we spent the afternoon picking out seeds and plants at the store. Then we spent the evening out back planting. Hopefully it will all take, if so we will have some yummy fruits & veggies fresh from our back yard. The kids had LOTS of fun helping Dave poke holes for the seeds. Hope everyone else is havinga wonderful weekend!
