Soccer

We had our first soccer practice today and all went well. The kids seemed to have a lot of fun. We played at the park for awhile afterward. I'm hoping between the 2 activities that they are worn out and sleep well tonight!

kids bathroom

about a week ago i go in the kids bathroom to see the wall paper border ripped for about a foot section. after questioning all the kids, jimmy admitted to it. he told me he saw it was loose and wanted to help so he took it off. big grr....oh well. so i wanted to fix it with minimal effort and cost. meaning i wanted to find a new wall paper border that would match the green paint and the yellow rugs & towels that are currently in their bathroom. after much searching i found a border at walmart that did both. if i was starting from scratch this wouldn't have been my first choice, it's bit more bold that i think i would of picked...but it fit the bill at $7 and it matched both the paint and the rugs/towels. so yesterday while jimmy was at school, addy was with dave, and timmy was napping i went to work. let me know what you think.

the first picture is the bathroom before with cats and dogs....

and this is what the walls look like now...

i changed the shower hooks to plain clear ones that i already had, and bought a simple $2 white trash can and now it all matches. so if anyone wants some cute cat and dog shower hooks and matching trash can just let me know :)

The First Day

The first day of school has come and gone. Jimmy seemed to really enjoy it. He told me, "I was really good all day...except at rest time, I wasn't really good." I asked him what he meant by that and he told me the teacher had to move him during nap time. As I figured, he hasn't napped since he was 2 and was probably bored and making noise. Oh well. Here are a few pictures from the day:

Karaoke

The kids got to "play" with our new karaoke machine...it was lots of fun. Check out Timmy's solo:

Rain Rain...let's PLAY

SO it's been raining alot this week. I love to play in the rain, but the thought of dealing with cold wet kids and a pile of wet dirty clothes when we are all done has been a detour. Saturday afternoon we headed out to Wal-Mart and it was sunny, when we left it was pouring. So since we were already wet from running across the parking lot, I thought what a perfect time to play. We came home put the stuff away and headed out to play in the water. Timmy watched from the porch with a confused look on his face.

Lowe's

Dave took the kids to Lowe's Saturday morning for this build and grow clinic, and they loved it! If you haven't tried this with your kids take a look: https://www.lowesbuildandgrow.com/ best of all it's FREE! They get to keep the apron and safety goggles to use on projects at home. They even had some left over kits from the past and sent those home with the kids to do here. It came in real handy on Saturday afternoon with all the rain. They built cars at Lowe's and then tool boxes at home.

Kindergarten Here We Come!

Last night we went to the school and met Jimmy's teacher. She seemed very nice. Jimmy got to see his classroom, his desk, and his cubby. He was very excited about the whole thing. We heard all about what his day will consist of...he wasn't too thrilled to hear about nap time. He hasn't napped since he was 2. But the teacher told him he could just lay there and rest if he didn't want to sleep. He told me he was very excited to do the math part of his day. He is quite the math wiz, and really enjoys it when we do math activities. Stay tuned, Monday will be his first day and there will definitely be pictures.

The Countdown...

The official countdown has begun! YAHOO!
Jimmy starts school in 7 days, we are in the final week!
For those of you who don't know, he has been counting down for about 8 months now...so the final week is a BIG deal! Honestly I don't know who is more excited him or me. I think it will be a good growing time for all of us. We get to go see his classroom and meet his teacher on Thursday.
Next week will also include his and Addy's first soccer practice. Another exciting moment for all of us. In case you haven't heard Dave will be coaching a little group we put together ourselves. We are looking forward to that too! Check out our soccer blog:
sasoccerstars.blogspot.com
Right now it's kind of boring informative stuff...but within the next few weeks it should have some fun pictures and stories.
Here's wishing everyone a happy end to summer as we look forward to the fall!

girls night

my cousin had a bday last week, so my sister and i got together to take her out and celebrate. we had lots of fun! i love girls nights! we had some yummy burgers at a place called fatty's, and yummy ice cream at sierra deli. both fun little hole in the wall type of places. found them on restaurant.com, very good site btw. the ice cream was great, we ordered the "kid" ones. i had a worm, eden got the mouse cup, and laura got the clown. we did some shopping, and caught a movie. very fun night, thanks girls!

my baby

so as if timmy didn't look bad enough with a black eye...he did a swan dive from his high chair and busted his lip now too. my sister says it looks like my baby has been through a gang fight. of course he wouldn't let me hold ice on it, so he had a couple of popsicles to keep it cold for awhile.

Look what I found on Craigslist!

Today listed under the FREE stuff on craigslist was this great post:

http://sanantonio.craigslist.org/zip/784019530.html

It's for a free massage! My cousin goes to this school and they are supposed to be doing their last sessions this weekend so they can graduate. Apparently the school has been having trouble filling the slots, so now they are offering them FREE so long as you mention the craigslist ad. It's probably luck of the draw who they stick you with, but hey free is FREE! Speaking from personal experience in attending one of these massage sessions, they are done in a professional manner, and it is a very relaxing 90 minutes! Well worth your time! So if you have free time this weekend call and schedule yourself a nice massage...and just think you are doing a service at the same time (they need you to graduate :))!
