My Unspectacular Quirks Tag

I got tagged from Nicole (thanks), and had fun reading her quirks...so here we go TMI about me!

Here are the rules:
1 - List the person(s) who tagged you
2 - Mention the rules on your blog
3 - Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours
4 - Tag 6 fellow bloggers

Quirk 1: I can hardly go to a restaurant without having a coupon or promotion of some sort. I love going out and being waited on but it kills me to pay so much for food!

Quirk 2: Another money one (I'm a cheapskate I know)...I always wonder how I can get a better deal and take pride in stacking coupons and finding the best deals. One example from last week I was at CVS, my fav deal spot, buying a jumbo huggies diapers (56 count), 2 packs of 80 count huggies wipes, 1 huggies clean team wipes, and 1 huggies clean team soap...I handed over all my coupons and my total was $9.53, so I pulled out my credit card to pay and the CVS manager who knows me too well asked, "really, are you just going to pay?" I said, "what?" He said, "well you surprised me, I figured you were going to pull out some more coupons or something." So I paid my $9.53 and got my $10 ecb back, so really out of pocket cost was none. But all day I thought about his comment, was he right? Had I just "paid" to much for my diapers??? Silly I know, but the thought plagues me even now.

Quirk 3: Ever since I can remember anytime I wear socks and shoes (which is rare I prefer sandals) I have to tuck the sock in between my big toe and second toe. Weird I know, don't know where I picked this one up, but I have to do it.

Quirk 4: I wouldn't of thought of this one, I guess I thought it was normal...but according to Dave it's not. I am meticulous about sorting my laundry before washing. Apparently I sort and sub sort way beyond what is "normal". I have my whites, red/pinks, jeans/pants, play clothes, work/church clothes. Then depending on the how big the piles are I sub sort the jeans and other pants, and the work clothes into tops and pants.

Quirk 5: I love to mow grass. Always have, love the feeling, love the smell, love it all except the way my allergies go into overdrive the next day.

Quirk 6: I always have to wash my feet before I go to bed. Doesn't matter if they are dirty or not...I could have taken a shower 30 minutes before bed, but I still have to go wash my feet before I get into bed.

And now comes time to tag...I tag whoever wishes to play along! I look forward to reading about your quirks!

Cards

Monday night Desi and I hung out and had LOTS of fun making cards. I did all kinds from bday to thank you to Thanksgiving and Halloween. Just randomness. But I got to learn how to use the cool tool for brads and eyelets (thanks Desi), and I even used vellum on one of them (that was a first too). I really like the ABC one, you can't tell in the picture but it stands up a bit, I used those adhesive squares for the dimensional effect. Anyways take a look!

So much to say!

So it's been over a week since I posted, and it seems I've got a lot of catching up to do! I think I'll try for a quick recap as not to bore anyone :).
Addy and I have been having LOTS of fun "hanging out" while Jimmy is at school, and Timmy naps. We have done many things in the past few weeks. Sometimes we bake, sometimes we do craft projects, sometimes we do playdoh (for 2 hours straight!), and sometimes we just plain ol' play. It has been really neat connecting with her, and learning things that she likes. One day last week she wanted to make music, so we made maracas from tp rolls and beans and decorated them, and then a guitar from a shoe box and yarn. I love my little girl!

Last Thursday we got a call from some old friends we hadn't seen in awhile, and turns out they had recently moved to the Houston area. They were under mandatory evacuation and needed somewhere to go. We were happy to have them, we love visitors! So from Thursday night until Sunday afternoon we had non-stop fun! The kids all played so well together! On Friday afternoon we headed out to the zoo and had a ton of FUN!
On Saturday the Dads and big kids went to Lowes to build pirate ships and the Moms and little kids went shopping. We all had fun, and the pirate ships came out really cool! Then we even did a date swap! I love going on dates with my hubby! So Dave and I caught an afternoon movie, then Kira and Ammon headed out for dinner. Very convienient. Sunday afternoon, we were sad to see our friends go, but very happy we got to visit with them.

Yesturday we were babysitting for a friend here and it was sooo great to watch Addy play with another little girl. Most of her "friends" so far have actually been Jimmy's little boy friends. I decided I need to start setting up girl play dates for her.

And finally yesturday when Jimmy came home I went through his back pack with him and he had a little paper 8 page book. He has had one every Monday since school started. So I picked it up to read to him, and he stopped me and said, "no, I can read it to you." A bit confused I told him ok and handed it to him. Then he amazed me and actually read it! I think it might have been more memorization and picture recognition than actual reading, but still it amazed me! So much so that I took a video clip of it.

First Soccer Game

Today we had our first game, and the kids had fun. Each in their own way. Jimmy was out there chasing the ball, even made a score. Addy was running away from the ball, picking up cones and watching dragonflies.

My Girl

Today when I put Timmy down for a nap I asked Addy if she wanted to help make brownies for tonight. With that she jumped up with a smile and said I have to put on my makers. I was confused, what's a maker I asked. No response from her, she just ran to the kitchen. I followed to find her putting on the apron and chef hat my mom gave her this weekend. Really cute! Don't know why she called them makers, maybe because she wears them to make stuff. Either way, I thought it was adorable! So here are a few after pictures of her and the brownie bowl.

The rest of our weekend

After the wedding we headed to my parents house for the remainder of our 3 day weekend. Sunday we had a BBQ and our cousins came too. The kids had lots of fun! They played a lot and swam a lot! Thanks Mom & Dad!!!

Timmy had fun "jumping" in to Dave...

Jimmy and Austin went Star Wars on the swim noodles...

The Wedding

On Saturday we were in Houston. Dave's sister, Marianne, got married to Bradford. The kids were so excited for the trip! Excited to see everyone, especially their Nana Cindy, and cousins, and to gain a new uncle. It was a long eventful day, but lots of fun! At the temple Addy got bored during the pictures and started playing in the fountain. In the end she had dunked nearly all her hair and rather pleased with herself. It was a funny site to see. Oh and the first picture is the card I made Friday morning to go with the gift, I know it's simple and I'm no pro...but I really liked it so I took a picture of it.
