Ode to my camera...

About a year ago I came across a GREAT deal on craigslist, a Nikon coolpix camera for $15! So of course I bought it. Over the past year I have taken so many great pictures with it, and enjoyed it so. Unfortunately this past week it took it's last picture and has now been retired to a "toy" camera for the kids. We were at the doctors office waiting, as always, and Timmy was digging through my purse. He pulled it out, saying "see! see!" He likes to look at pictures of himself. So I snapped this one :I clicked it over to view so he could look, when out of nowhere Addy decides to CHARGE him. She came at him from the side, the camera went up and came crashing down. The lens was jammed with a lens error message on the screen. So I turned it over to Dave hoping he could unjam it. Well the good news is he took it apart and was able to unjam the lens. The bad news is that when he put it back together it wouldn't power on anymore. So this is it:
Finished up. We had a good run, and I definately got my $15 worth out of it. So for now I'm on the back up old camera, which works but lacks all the cool features I had come to love on my Nikon. But goodness is to come, Dave told me to pick out any camera I wanted!!! YEA!! So the research has begun. If anyone has any recommendations let me know!

More on the weekend...

As we are quickly approaching yet another weekend I figure I should finish posting about last weekend. Friday night we had a "date" night in which we stayed in and painted the living room. I don't have pictures yet...but it's nice, I really like it! Saturday morning we had a soccer game, which went well. Then we had a quick
lunch and loaded up the van for a road trip. We went to Bryan to visit with family. We were able to visit with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Des, Uncle Kit, Aunt Laura, Doug, and Lesley. It was lots of FUN! Saturday evening we went to a picnic. Sunday was a beautiful day most of which we spent outside playing. We swung, blew bubbles, flew kites, wheel barrow rides, tractor rides, plyed catch, and bluebonnet pictures (see previous post). We had a great time being with family and friends.

Texas Bluebonnets

So once again another BUSY weekend for the Bergquist family. Among the many things we did was take Bluebonnet pictures. This has become kind of a spring tradtion. I LOVE pics of the kids in the flowers. There haven't been a lot of bluebonnets around here, but we were lucky enough to be traveling through an area which is FLOODED with the pretty flowers. All of our pictures are in the slideshow for the Grandparents and anyone else who has time to look through 100 pictures. For a shortened version, I'm gonna highlight a few of my favorites...

Spring Break

What a week! The kids went to Nana & Papa's house after Timmy's Birthday to spend Spring Break. While they were gone Dave & I got a lot accomplished here at the house. We finished covering the kitchen chairs, and painted the kitchen. I LOVE IT! Thanks to Desi for the fabirc that I used on the chairs, which was also the inspiration for the colors of the room. And a BIG thanks to Nicole for recommending the best paint tool ever made! The sur line edger is a miracle! My least favorite part of painting has always been the prep taping, but thanks to this tool taping is no longer necessary!

I also repainted the downstairs bathroom. I had painted this awhile back but it's been bugging me. See I had mixed the paint myself and didn't get it all the way, so some spots were streaky as the color varied. So now, it's all a uniform crisp clean blue. And I am much happier with it.

We also bought, hauled, unloaded, and moved around about 3000 pounds of dirt. We decided to expand our garden this year, thus all the dirt. Bad news was the day we had set aside to do this it was very cold and rainy. So we were moving WET dirt, that required some extra effort. No pictures yet. I probably take some once we get the plants in the ground. Right now they are all in starter pods. We are hoping for a good year, we've got all sorts of yummy things growing!
We also changed Timmy's room from baby to big boy. Dave took apart the crib and put up a twin bed. I decked it out with the new cars bedding he got for his birthday. So far he isn't loving it, but it's going better than we expected. I'll have to take a picture of him in it to post later.

Another big thing we got done while the kids were gone was get a new family vehicle. Yep, we broke down and purchased a mini-van. A gray Honda Odyssey. All I can say is YAY for tax refunds. Personally I have never been a fan. I always imagined a nice SUV with the 3rd row...but when it came down to it, the mini-van was clearly the pracitcal choice. Initial cost was much less than an SUV, gas mileage was better than an SUV, and it provides the needed space. So we did it. As for the rest of the family they are thrilled. Dave has always liked them, and the kids just think it's cool. I must admit it was "cool" coming home Sunday night with all the kids in seperate seats not annoying each other.

So that's what we did. Here's what the kids did...

Took a trip to way north Texas to see Great Grandparents.

Spent time with Nana & Papa, Aunt Jennifer & soon to be Uncle Robert.

Flew kites.

Went Camping.

Built BIG fires.

Went on early Easter Egg hunts.

Played with baby goats.

Lots of outdoor play and swinging.

Then some indoor play when the rain came.

"Helped" Papa with his projects.

And just had a GREAT time!!!

Thanks Cindy & David for taking the kids, they LOVED it!

On our way home we made a stop to visit with our cousins we hadn't seen in awhile. Thanks Heather & Ryan, we had a really FUN time!!!

Our weekend was once again filled with fun and excitement. We had a soccer game Saturday morning, check the soccer blog for those pics. Saturday was also Timmy's 2nd Birthday so we celebrated with a lunch out, cake, and presents. Lots of fun!!! Nana Cindy came to join in the fun, and then took the kiddos back to her place for Spring Break. Yea, they are excited, and I have BIG plans to get a lot done while they are gone!

Our Life in Pictures

So there won't be a lot of words in this post...but as the old saying goes a picture is worth a thousand words. I just think it's easier to summarize what we've been up to with pictues...

We did Chuck E Cheese for Jimmy's bday dinner, however he was all over the place playing games that I didn't even get a picture of him.

IHOP pancake day...lots of sticky FUN!

Silly kids being SUPER!!!
