Baby Blues

I LOVE the Baby Blues cartoon strip. The cartoons make me laugh, because I can relate most of the time! It's fun to see the light-hearted side to the stressfulness of raising kids. This is a good illustration of about 7:30 at our house! Everyone loves when Daddy comes Home!

This one in particular makes me think of Jimmy. He is always wanting someone to come play with him. But the moment they even start looking at his stuff he freaks out. He will grab the toy and run to me and ask me to put his toy in time out so it stays safe. Then he wonders why his friends aren't playing with him.

All I can say is how much I would have loved to have one of those carts yesturday struggling through target!

And lastly...let's take a vote! How many of you have had a date like this??? I know we have!

bed time fun

what better way to go to bed, than a cool ride from daddy. with stairs a horsey ride doesn't work well, but a blanket over the shoulder does! and is a definte favorite of the kids. friday night after everyone was ready for bed, dave gave them each a ride to bed. check out the pics! we had lots of laughs!

box 'o fun!

it just amazes me how much fun can be had with a boring old box! i brought this box out of the garage on wednesday last week during preschool. we were talking about police officers, and the kids wanted to make a squad car. so we pulled out the markers and the creation began. as the day progressed jimmy told me the car was no longer a police car, now it was a race car as he made all sorts of zooming sounds. then addy came in and told me that no, it was a rocket ship and she was headed to outer space to see the moon. then a little while later timmy crawled in and flipped it over and crawled in. don't know what he thought it was other than fun, he was in a constant giggle! the laughing attracted jimmy and addy and then the 3 of them all crawled in and were laughing hysterically. it was lots of fun to watch! it's great to see with sooo many toys in the world a kid can still be entertained by the small and simple things.

ginger bread house

we did a ginger bread house! and it was actually a success! this is a big deal, see we attempted a halloween one, and it was beyond failure! but i figured out the problem...and fixed it this time! it was the frosting, it was way toooo thin to hold anything together. so this time we had THICK frosting, and it worked. jimmy, addy, and i did this one day last week while timmy was sleeping. the kids had lots of fun putting on all the candies. i love prepackaged projects, especially when they work out!

christmas time is wonderful!

on saturday we went out to fiesta texas for "holiday in the park". the park was decorated with LOTS of lights, and they even had the biggest christmas tree in all of texas. it looked beautiful and smelled GREAT! but it was almost sad to see such a huge tree that had grown for who knows how many years to be chopped down and put in a theme park for christmas. i guess it was the trees moment to shine...i wonder what will happen to it after christmas. it was dark, so the pictures are hard to make out, but to give you an idea: the picture of the whole tree was taken a far way back to get it all in the picture and the picture with the carolers, is them under the tree, check out the base of that tree! the kids had lots of fun, and even got to see santa! we all enjoyed the time together as a family.
