Random Project

So Saturday I went out to the garage to paint a shelf that Dave built me for my birthday. So I started mixing paint and ended up mixing way too much...but I loved the color. So I randomly decided to paint the 1/2 bath downstairs with the left overs. So what do you think?

I love my friends!

So I think one of the best things in life is good friends! And we are very lucky to have some! This weekend some friends from back home were here and I got to hang out with them on Friday night. It was great to chat and laugh with them! Thanks Jill! Saturday we had friends come by and brighten our day, thanks Rick & Desi. Then Sunday a very creative friend brought these adorable cupcakes by! I love them, they look just like my 3 little monsters :) and they were very tasty too! Thank YOU Nicole! Sunday evening a friend I hadn't talked to in months called to say HI! It was great, thanks Heather! And Sunday evening we played cards with friends, thanks Rick & Desi! All and all a fun friend filled weekend! I love friends!

My Soccer Stars

We had our last soccer practice yesturday, I can't believe how fast the season has gone by! Here are my kiddos (Addy wouldn't smile):

Pumpkins

I LOVE this pumpkin decorating kit that I got a few years back. It has these cute wooden pieces to stick in pumpkins that can be used year after year! Jimmy and Addy each picked a pumpkin last week at the patch and got to "decorate" them. So simple, and so cute!

The Pumpkin Patch Kids

We went back to the pumpkin patch for a group picture with all the kids...we didn't have a lot of luck getting them all to stay and look at the camera. But Dave did capture this great one, and we got some good individual shots too. All & all a fun evening out for the family.

Oh Timmy...

Beautiful isn't he? HAHA!
This is what I found Sunday morning as Addy announced he found her pink sparkle lips.

Timmy...

Timmy like most little boys is his age is obsessed with balls. Earlier this week he discovered the tomato plants in the garden that were covered in "balls". Luckily we were right there and caught him after 2 or 3. Unfortunately yesterday I was not paying so close attention...and well here's a picture

yea, that's 81 green tomatoes in case you were wondering. Most of them were cherry tomatoes so the size isn't too big of a deal... we are hoping they will redden up on the counter.

Again with the balls, lately he has been way excited anytime Dave got his golf clubs and balls out. So when we saw a Jr golf kit on sale for $2 we picked it up. Here's a short video of him enjoying himself. It's funny I think that he thinks the little hole thing to putt into is a tee, he always starts with the ball there and then goes to town whacking.

Jimmy's New Do

So when it was time to cut Jimmy's hair this week, he said, "I want to use hair gel like Kevin." Who is Kevin? Some boy in Jimmy's class as far as I know. So we attempted a new do, that would need hair gel. We've never done much with his hair because of his funky cowlick. So tell me what do you think of Jimmy and his hair gel? Never mind the goofy face, he was being silly.

Addy's birthday is coming up soon, so we went in to take some pictures. I can't believe she is already turning 4! Time really flies!

FUN FUN FUN

What a FUN weekend! On Saturday morning we all headed to Lowe's for the Build & Grow Clinic...lots of noise and lots of fun! 30 minutes and 3 glow in the dark skeletons later we were off. Here are a few shots:

The kids really LOVE doing these projects at Lowe's every other Saturday, and we LOVE that they are free. If you haven't tried them yet, you should try it out! Next is a pumpkin. https://www.lowesbuildandgrow.com/

Saturday Evening we hosted our first ever House Party, and had tons of FUN at it. Unfortunately I spaced and didn't take any pictures. Anyways, it was lots of fun, with lots of food, friends, and a great game too (thanks Rick)! We were hosting a Barilla Piccolini party, so we had pasta, salad & bread. Oh and very tasty pumpkin bars (thanks Jerusha)! We did 4 pasta dishes and the most popular (with the adults anyways) was this one:

Piccolini® Mini Fusilli with Creamy spinach and Chicken
Ease of preparation: easy
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 20 minutes
Servings: 4-6

Ingredients
1 box Piccolini® Mini Fusilli

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil 1 tablespoon onion, finely chopped

1 pound chicken breast, cubed

1 bag (6 ounces) baby spinach, cut in strips

1 cup heavy whipping cream

1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

to taste salt to taste freshly ground black pepper

BRING a large pot of water to a boil.HEAT oil in a medium skillet over medium heat. Add onion and saute for 3 minutes. Increase heat to medium-high.ADD chicken; season with salt and pepper. Cook chicken for an additional 3 minutes.ADD spinach and cream, reduce heat and simmer mixture for 5 minutes.Meanwhile, COOK Mini Fusilli according to the package directions. Drain and toss with the sauce.STIR in grated cheese before serving .

Definitely worth trying out! I was even surprise by it, because I don't typically like food with spinach in it. So if you haven't checked out house party before...you should! Here is a link: http://www.houseparty.com/

It's really neat, you apply to parties that interest you, and hope you get picked. Then if you get picked they ship you a box full of fun stuff for the party, including party favors for the guests! We received pasta, coupons for free jars of sauce, a music cd, a frommer's Italy guide, an Italian ideas magazine, wine glass charms (didn't use but still cool), and for party favors: kitchen timers, hackey sacks, story books, and more coupons. So we had a great experience with house party, and hope to get picked again in the future!

So like I said we had FUN FUN FUN!

The Pumpkin Patch

Today our playgroup was at a local pumpkin patch, and it was so much FUN! Very nice set up for photo op's. We will definately be going back to take some pics with all the kids (Jimmy missed playgroup since he's in school). They had a story and singing time that my kiddos really enjoyed. And then of course loads of pumpkins for sale to choose from. Addy got to pick out a little one and was very excited. I would definately recommend this as a fun, and free family outing! Oh and on a side note...I needed gas today, and the station by my house went down to $2.89! I was so excited to see it under $3!!!

Backyard Pictures

Just a few pictures of being out back yesturday. Jimmy's new thing is hanging and climbing all over the swing set. Addy is into silly pictures with her tongue lately. And Timmy was helping Dad dig, until he saw Jimmy, then of course he wanted to do what his brother was doing...
