Saturday Night

On Saturday night we went on a double date with our friends Rick & Desi. We had SOOO much FUN! We hadn't been on a double in years, and it was great! We went to a new restaurant called Turquoise and had Turkish food. Surprisingly I liked it! I was a little scared, I don't try new things very often. But it was great, if you are looking for something fun to try, I recommend it! Then we went to Dave & Busters and played games, air hockey was intese :) and did the photo booth. Then we hit up HEB for brownie sundae supplies. We took the babysitter home and had ice cream, tons of FUN!

Water FUN in preschool

All this year I've been trading off with another mom every other week doing preschool lessons for Jimmy & Max. Last week since it was HOT I decided to do a lesson on water. So after we talked about water and all the things it is used for, and did our letter worksheets we headed out back for some water fun! We did a water balloon toss, water balloon baseball, and a slip & slide. The kids seemed to have lots of fun!

Also I decided to try out the video feature on my new camera, and it works great. On the other hand, I'm kinda not too bright and did a tall ways one thinking I could flip it like a picture. Well I can't figure any way to flip it. SO now I have a sideways video. Oh well, here it is.

PICTURES!

OK so a few weeks ago I got a new camera, and I just now got around to loading the software to download them...so I'm backlogged with pictures. Be prepared, the slideshows are coming! HAHA! It's funny, my old digital camera (which I took to fiesta texas hence those pics are up) only held 20 pics at a time because of it's small card, so I was downloading all the time. My new camera holds like 200, so I hadn't been in a hurry to download. So now let the show begin! Here are the kids a few Sundays ago. Addy got a new dress (90% off at Kohls only $4.90!!! + I had a $5 off coupon!!!).

Oh and here is Dave at the hospital right before they knocked him out! I was nice and didn't take an after picture in the recovery room :)

Company Family Picnic

On Saturday Dave's company had their family picnic at Fiesta Texas. We had LOTS of FUN! It made for a long day, but I think it was worth it. Around 6:30 we thought we should start heading home. But then as we started our journey across the park to the gates, we kept stopping and trying another ride. This continued on and on until 9pm when the announcement came on saying the park was closing. It was great though because the later it got the shorter the lines got, and the braver Jimmy got. It was funny, he even went on the Gully Washer twice! Hey Heather remember last summer how much he CRIED while we waited in line for that one. So he was running to get on, and he said I love this ride we went on it with Madalyn & Ethan. So then Addy kicks in..."Where's Ethan? I want to ride with Ethan!" The Gully washer was the end of the night for us. So we got to the car about 9:30, then it took over half an hour to get out of the parking lot. We grabbed some dinner and got everyone to bed about 11. So yea, a very long but FUN day!

Happy Mother's Day

Today has been a fun Mother's day. The kids got up with the other children at church today to sing a cute Mother's day song, Mother I Love You. Click here if you want to hear it:

So anyways, about 1 line into Addy announces in a voice way above all the others singing, "MOM, I remember the words!!!" I laughed so hard that I cried! That's my girl! Then when the song was over and all the kids were returning to their seats she waved with a big smile and said, "MOM, I did it, I sang to you." Classic moment.

I also received 2 very special presents:

These two willow tree figurines to represent my wonderful children.
I have this couple figurine that we got as a wedding present:

So now I need to find a location to display them all together. I love Willow Tree stuff, it's so simple, yet so meaningful. And with that I wish you all a Happy Mother's Day.

Still Here

I feel like I haven't posted in forever! Things have been crazy this past week.

On Friday Dave took the kids + 1 cousin "camping". It's in parenthesis because they didn't go anywhere, it was in our backyard. But the kids still had tons of FUN! They roasted hot dogs and marshmallows and 1/2 of them even slept outside in the tent. I went out for a girl's night and left Dave with a camera to capture the moment. All he got was a picture of Timmy in the high chair and a picture of Jimmy & Allan playing Wii. Oh well. Point is they had FUN! The next morning I had a meeting and he took them all fishing at a local lake. Addy actually caught one! She casted and reeled it in all on her own! Unfortunately the camera didn't make it there either, so no pictures.

While out on my girl's night, I found the perfect fabric to recover the toy box in! What do you think???

Now I've just got to dig around in the garage to find the paint to do some touch ups. Slowly but surely the living room is transforming. And to think it all started with a dirty papisan chair! HAHA! I'm loving it!

So on Sunday we had a "sleepover" at the cousins house. Dave was scheduled for surgery at 6am and I didn't want to be waking the kids up at 5 to get them where they needed to be. All went well with the surgery. Now we are in the recovery stage. Unfortunately recovery has been much slower than anticipated. But each day he is getting a little better, and the pain pills are getting farther and farther apart. He is even going to try and work (from home) tomorrow. We will see how that goes.

We lucked out in the timing of all of this that Dave's Mom was in town. She is here "babysitting" the cousins while the parents are on a trip. So we have had the pleasure of seeing, playing, and enjoying Nana Cindy, + the bonus of cousins every day for a week now. It has been real helpful in Dave's recovery and allowing me to take care of him. Thanks Nana Cindy!

And that my friends is what we have been up to this last week. I hope all is well with everyone out there!

One FUN Party

Have you ever been to a murder mystery party? SOO FUN! It's like live action clue. You are given a character to play beforehand and then you dress and act as that character the whole night. We were invited to one this past weekend and had a BLAST! Here is the description of Dave's character:

COSTELLO THE ABBOT - This high, holy man recently lost his abbey and is currently earning his living as a theater critic. His scathing review of sheepsheare's play All's Well That Ends Where Everyone Dies is more often remembered than the play itself. - Costume ideas: Simple garb for a complex man. A dark-hooded robe held together by a frayed rope and sandals. A bowl haircut or wig benefits the abbot well.

So through our collaborative efforts, the dollar fabric section at walmart, and my very poor sewing skills we actually came up with a pretty cool looking monk costume! I had to show it off!
If anyone ever needs a monk costume for any reason, you know where to come to borrow one!

My character was:
OPHELIA BOTTOMSWORTH - The only survivor of a shipwreck, Ophelia is a recent arrival to England's shores. As a show of compassion, Queen Beth took the poor woman in, and now, Ophelia works as Queen Beth's trusted personal maidservant. -Costume Ideas The bright colors of a common, but flamboyant woman. A working girl's dress and boots "that are made for walking." Fragrant flowers adorn the hair, and a corset is always in order.

We didn't make much for my costume just a simple apron and then combined things already present in our closet. Here's a picture of us at the party. We had a great time! Thanks for the invite Parkers!

Jimmy's Drawing

So I realized today I haven't posted in awhile!
Things have been crazy, it seems it always takes a bit to get back into our schedule.
Anyways in catching up...
I wanted to post this picture that Jimmy drew.
It's of Him & His Nana Kaye at the beach building a sand castle.
I think it's really cute!
