So much to catch up on...

Well I made 2 slide shows for this post, but am currently having technical difficulty getting those added...so I will try again later.

Just a heads up this is going to be a LONG post. Things have been crazy busy the last 2 weeks and the blog has been neglected. So here goes my attempt to recap what has been going on...

Timmy has still been "sick" with ear infections. We went back for a check up and they hadn't cleared up, so we started more antibiotics and were referred to a specialist. I say sick in quotations because you look at him and wouldn't even know it. He is such a happy boy considering. He didn't even tug at his ear until it ruptured. The doc says he must have a high tolerance for pain, because most anyone with that amount of fluid would not be happy. Here are pics of Addy and Timmy keeping themselves entertained while waiting for the doc. So like I said we were referred to a specialist as Timmy's ear infectons have now been labeled "chronic" (seen 8 times in the last year for ear infections). We saw the specialist a week later and his ears still weren't clear. So he has been scheduled for surgery this coming Friday. He will have tubes put in his ears, and hopefully start feeling better.

SO we started soccer back up. We have had 3 practices and 1 game so far. We do practices every Thursday and games every oher Saturday. This has been a fun experience for us. We've really grown in size since we started last fall. We started out with 6 kids all ages playing together then. Now we have over 30 kids in 3 age groups signed up and playing. We've had the opportunity to meet many new families. The games were really fun to watch, I am looking forward to the next one this Saturday. Here's Timmy, he played in age group 1 and had a blast! This group all followed the ball in a herd style, very entertaining.

Here's Addy she "played" in age group 2...I put played in quotations because her interest level is low and actually only spent about 5 minutes on the field.

Here's Jimmy in the center wearing blue. He played in age group 3. This picture to me is a great summary of the game. In this group the boys insisted on being on the same team, and the girls insisted on being together. So we let them try it. It made for an uneven split 4 girls against 2 boys. The boys TRIED really hard, but couldn't quite keep up with the girls. Being a non-competitve soccer group we don't keep score and just play for fun. But the girls were keeping track on their own. When Dave blew the ending whistle they rejoiced and said they won 7-1. For future reference the team will not be split like this again, in hopes of setting a more even playing field.

Immeadiately following the game on the 7th I headed to Houston. My brother who currently lives out of state was "home" for the weekend at my parents house, so I went to see him and the rest of the family. For those of you who may not know, I am married to the GREATEST man ever! Dave insisted I go on my own and take a break from the kids. So I did I went and spent the car ride listening to my music and only stopped when I wanted to. It was swell! While in Houston I did lots of fun things with my family. One day we went to Kemah and saw this yellow submarine that screamed photo op!

Another day we were driving down around the dike and saw the coolest thing EVER! It's called kite boarding, and I SOOO want to try it out. Basically you are harnessed to a BIG kite with a handle bar, and then strapped onto a board that resembles a snow board. You get out on the water and go. It looked like so much fun!
One night we played 4 person pool. Dad has a pool table out in the garage. It was Stephen & Laura against Dad & myself. Lots of laughs were had, thanks for a fun night guys!

So I got back from my relaxing trip to Houston to a busy week. We had a playgroup at our house on Wednesday. It was a Valentine's party and the kids decorated bags and exchanged Valentines. It was lots of fun, but I forgot to take any pictures. Thursday we had the card exchange group night and it was here too. Also lots of fun. It's always nice to have "girl" time. Friday I took the younger two up to Jimmy's classroom for cupcakes in celebration of his birthday. They put this crown on him, and a ribbon on his shirt that said Happy Birthday. His class sang then had cupcakes. He had early release that day too, so it seemed like a really long day to me.
That afternoon all 3 kiddos were playing in the backyard when Jimmy came rushing in saying I needed to get the camera. They had positioned themselves in the hammock together and were looking cute!

Slide show 1 goes here, the kiddos being cute...

Friday I spent prepping for Jimmy's party. My parents also came into town for the weekend. Saturday morning Jimmy was all excited! He was 6 and he couldn't wait for his party to start!

We had the party from 2-4 with all the boys around his age from soccer. From his perspective LOTS of FUN! From a parents perspective LOTS of energy. And poor Addy, I didn't even think about it, as all the boys were arriving she kept asking which girls I invited. But I hadn't invited any so she was surrounded in a sea of boys. The party overall was a success! We played a few games: pin the light saber on yoda, deathstar pinata, and foam light sabers. Everyone got a turn on the pinata with the foam light sabers, then we let Jimmy smash it for real. All party guests got their own foam light saber to attack Darth Var (Dave) with. That was a very funny part of the party! We had a light saber cake, yoda soda, and little light saber pretzel sticks. Jimmy loved present time (what kid doesn't) so thanks to all!!!
Slide show 2 goes here, Jimmy's party fun!

Also on Saturday afternoon we were heart-attacked by some great friends- THANKS!

Saturday night Mom & Dad babysat so we could have a Valentine's date. We went to see twilight, and well the movie was kinda cheesy...but I still like the books. Then we went to Freddy's Frozen custard for dinner. It's fairly new and so we thought we'd try it out...IT WAS AMAZING! If you haven't tried it yet, you should! The burgers were tasty, and the custard was oh sooo yummy! I always thought custard was like a gross yogurt pudding concotion...but no this was like the best ice cream ever!!!
On Monday, Dave & Jimmy both had off for presidents day. And so we got to have a fun family filled day! My sister Laura was also here for it too! We all slept in, then we went to the driving range. Which I had never done before, but Dave and the kids had. It was lots of fun, just a bit nerve racking cause we were on the second level and I was so scared Timmy was going to run off the ledge.

After golf we went to see Bolt, very funny by the way. I love the hamster. Then we took the kids to Freddy's for a late lunch/early dinner. And they loved it! Timmy was very possesive of his bowl of custard, givng an evil glare and "mine, mine!" statement to anyone nearby. Very comical. So that in a nutshell is our last 2 weeks. Lots of fun!
